No Job Description Summary Performs moderately complex repair or construction of university facilities or property which require specialized training in a skilled trade (mason/tilesetting). Performs skilled masonry duties in the construction, alteration, repair, installation and maintenance of masonry structures. Position's primary purpose is to ensure that masonry structures, restrooms/shower areas, and patios are in safe, clean and good condition and that repairs are completed promptly and properly. Hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Job Description Essential Duties: - Reviews job orders and blueprints or drawings; inspects site and consults with client; determines best method to complete project - Estimates amount of materials and equipment needed to complete project; arranges for materials to be at job site - Performs complex repair or installation on University facilities and property using expertise acquired through specialized training in the masonry trade - Assists outside contractors as needed; assists crafts-persons from other trades as needed - Maintains and cleans tools and equipment; maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner - Performs trade tasks, including constructing forms, tile, concrete, brick/block, and other building rough carpentry work, and responds to emergency situations as assigned - May prepare some paperwork; may maintain files Minimum Qualifications - Requires nine months training beyond high school in a skilled trade (masonry) and two years of experience in the that trade, or an equivalent combination of education and experience - Driver's license required Preferred Qualifications Additional Posit
